Dear all,
Hereby we would like to officially invite you to the Workshop: Mobile Neuroimaging Technology.
Overview workshop:
In the past few decades, neuroscience and cognitive psychology have produced a rich body of research on memory, learning and attention, but for the most part the translational value of this work to classroom practices has been limited. A major challenge for translation is that neuroscience research is typically conducted in artificial and highly controlled laboratory settings. Interestingly, recent developments in mobile neuroimaging technology (e.g. electroencephalography (EEG) and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS)), now allow taking neuroscience research out of the lab and into working classrooms and other real life settings. Moreover, mobile technologies enable research in young children, and in areas of the world where access to advanced research labs is limited.
This workshop will provide inspiring examples of mobile neuroimaging research (keynotes by Davidesco and Jasinska) and hands-on experience with these technologies. The workshop is organized by the Emerging Field Group (EFG) on portable brain technology, free to attend (but registration is required) and funded by the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI) and Jacobs Foundation. No experience with (mobile) neuroscience is required to participate. Please note that a maximum of 60 participants can attend this workshop.
