I would like to present my proposal, how my research is taking shape and the timeline or calendar for my PhD in this research seminar.

This study aims to explore community and parental involvement in the quality of education focusing on the parent of children and community members of schools from two rural communities in the Ekumfi District in the Central region of Ghana. The study sets to understand and explicate the degree to which community and parents perceive and participate in the quality of education in the rural areas. This research is as a result of the many challenges that children and schools in the rural areas have been facing. Truancy, absenteeism, poor infrastructure and teacher qualification. The topic is of interest to me because I have been a teacher in rural community where there is a limited community and parent involvement. This research is of interest to research/practice because the Basic Education Sector improvement program in Ghana (passed in 1995) supports the Ministry of Education recognition of the importance community and parental involvement in order to improve teaching and learning environment.
