Seminar description:
Uncertain times need creative and collective endeavors. The International Science and Evidence Based Education Assessment (ISEEA) by the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) set out to answer two urgent questions: 1) Are education systems still serving the right purpose? and 2) How can education systems adapt themselves to address the pressing challenges we face today? The first-of-its-kind assessment of education systems, the ISEEA brought together global and multi-disciplinary expertise to provide a scientifically robust and evidence-based assessment to inform education policymaking at all levels and scales. The full report ‘Reimagining Education’, with a Summary for Decision Makers (SDM), was launched in 2022. This seminar will present the approach and main findings. During the Q&A, we open the discussion about the ISEEA’s implications for education practice and policy.
